Round 2: 33 Weeks

How far along:   33 weeks

Baby Size:  A bag of microwave popcorn or a football.

Weight:

Symptoms:

  • I'm so tired
  • Back aches
  • Out of breath all the time
  • Hard to bend over
  • I get full really easily
  • Restless legs

Maternity Clothes:   I'm outgrowing some more tops

Sleep:  Over the weekend Rob let me sleep in and my fitbit told me I got 5 hours of sleep each night.  That is so rare for me.  And then there was restless legs and insomnia the last few nights.

Cravings/Food Aversions:  I was craving a mcdonalds cheeseburger the other day and had one and it was yummy!

Belly Button:  Out

Rings on or off: On

Gender:  I've been leaning toward a girl for most of this last week

Name:  Still need a girl middle name or maybe even a whole new girl name since Rob still isn't totally sure.

Movement: This baby was quiet of Friday and really quiet on Saturday.  I was getting really nervous; I'd laid on my side, drank ice water, drank juice, pushed on my belly and wasn't really getting anything.  Then Sunday I got a little more movement and felt better.

Stretch Marks: I haven't noticed any new ones other than the ones on my belly

Best moment:  We had maternity/family pictures on Sunday.  Our first professional pictures since Eleanor was born so I'm looking forward to them.  I loved the sneak peeks she posted that day.

Looking forward to:  Being done with work because it's getting harder and I'm sore and exhausted

Nervous about: Not working and thus being down to one income

What I miss:  Bending over/leaning forward and walking without being out of breath ten seconds later.

Labor signs: Nope

Appointments:  I had one yesterday.  I don't know what the heartrate was but I was measuring right on track at 33 weeks.  I have 5 more to go before my due date

Misc.  We ordered a new video monitor with dual cameras so we only have to have one base and it's not internet based like the dropcam so if the internet is out it will still work.

Rob is awesome and fixed the glider cushion for under $10 so now it's more comfortable.

The Eleanor Update: Week 26

26 weeks and we are officially halfway to a year.  This update will be a little shorter because I'm working on the 6 month (sob) update.

Breastfeding:
Still having some latch issues.  I don't think it's going to change, and as I've mentioned before I'm not willing to stop so I'm just dealing with the pain.

Her nursing sessions have been pretty short this week and while she generally doesn't go more than 2 1/2 hours, there have been a few cases where she went 3 hours. I'm trying to stretch them out a little bit.

Sleep:
I'm starting to feel like a broken record. It's good.  It's bad.  It's good. It's okay.  It's bad again. It's okay.
Thursday night she slept from 11 pm - 6:45 in her crib.  She didn't wake up once.
Friday night she slept from 9 pm -12:45 in her crib, nursed, back in crib until 5 am, nursed again and then was basically up until she napped on me from 8-9.

Misc:
She's been super clingy this week and I feel like I've gotten nothing done.  If I walk out of her sight, or even out of her reach she whines.

The Eleanor Update: Week 24

Sleep:

Hit or miss.  There were a couple nights where she wound up back in the rock n play, or in bed with me or at one point on my chest.

Naps were a little better.  Earlier she took a TWO hour nap on her belly (which meant I checked on her like every 2 minutes), but the next day was only a 30 minute belly nap.

Friday night she did alright.  She nursed for a few minutes around 7:30, fell asleep (which is normal at that time), then woke up about 45 minutes later (normal), but instead of keeping her up like usual. I feed her again and she went back to sleep and slept for another hour or so.   Then she woke up, and I comforted her by swaying with her for a few minutes until she fell back asleep.  She slept until about 1 am, and then ate and slept until 6:30.  I would have been happy with that, since she just was chatting away in her crib in a good mood, but after I got her and feed her she fell back asleep.  I put her in bed with me and she slept about 45 more minutes (so I slept 15 maybe- she's a bit of a bed hog) but I was in a good mood when she woke up because of all that sleep.

Then Saturday I put her down for a nap around 10:30 ( about 2 1/2 hours after waking up) on her belly, she turned herself 180 degrees, and slept over 2 hours! (cue monitor stalking because something must be wrong if she sleeps that long).

Then Saturday night she was back to her old tricks.

I did request a bunch of sleep training/help books from the library so maybe I can find something that will help.

Sunday afternoon she put herself to sleep in less than 2 minutes.  I was impressed, but it's probably a fluke.

She did sleep from about 10:30 pm -5 am so I was happy.

I'm thinking that part of the problem was getting her back up after her 7 pm ish nap.  Keeping her calm and in her room has helped.

Breastfeeding:

On a probably an over share but I'm going to do it anyway note when I was nursing Eleanor yesterday she unlatched herself (she does this often) but for the first time my milk actually squirted out.  Like it got her in the eye and on her face.  I quickly latched her back on and laughed.  Then she did it again, and this time I held up her burp cloth until it stopped a few seconds later.  I thought it was funny.

Also a few weeks ago I shared how I was happy to see this sign (in this post).  Turns out I know the person who came up with the campaign.  It's a friend from church-who actually made Eleanor the camo dress seen in this update-and oh my goodness how little is she there? (Side note: she has an etsy shop and makes some cute diaper covers and baby related things).

Misc:

I am so ready for winter to be over because this sweet girl loves to take walks in the big stroller and I want to get out and get back into shape a little bit.

If I walked out of her sight, she would cry.  We had a rough day that day.
One of her new outfits
After a 2 hour nap!

Another new outfit
Reading a book with grandpa U.  Love that expression!
Stealing all the balls for the ball popper.

The Eleanor Update: Week 23

Breastfeeding:
She is still causing me some pain on my left side when she's nursing, and I am back to using an ointment on the nipple after nursing to help.

Rob tried a few times this to give her a bottle this week and she won't take a bottle.  Luckily it only had an ounce or so at a time so I didn't waste lots of milk (I suspected she wouldn't take it).  It's really my fault because I stopped having her take bottles because of my clogged duct issues.

Sleeping
Sleeping was much better this week, during the week anyway.  The weekend was pretty rough.  Both Saturday and Sunday she was up by 6 am, and on Sunday she honestly didn't sleep until almost 4 pm (with the exception of maybe 15 minutes while nursing).  At 4 pm I bundled her up really well in the carseat, snapped it into the stroller and we took a 20 minute walk (she was out in less than 5).  It was only 9 degrees and I was cold, but I knew the fresh air and the walk would put her to sleep and she wound up sleeping for about 30 minutes.

I was in tears when Rob came home Sunday afternoon from exhaustion (he had been gone the night before) and had actually fallen asleep earlier that morning in bed with Eleanor while I was nursing her in the side lie position.  I've never done that before (funny thing is I was dreaming I was nursing her).  I did kind of nod off once in the glider when she was first born, but woke up as soon as my head bobbled. I'm sure I didn't sleep long, more than 10 minutes based on the time, but I still don't want that to be a habit.

I have been putting her on her belly just for naps.  It's something I'm not totally comfortable with, but if she is sleeping, then I'll let it go.  Whatever works! I do check on her every few minutes and use the monitor, as well as the Snuza .

I really wish I could use that thing until she goes to college.  I'd feel so much better.  Haha.

Misc:

I'm down to my lowest weight yet!  I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 116 lbs!

We took a walk in the big stroller (city mini) last week since it was warmer out and she loved it. On colder days I use the keyfit caddy since I can bundle her up better in the car seat.

She loves to be able to look around though.  We were in a store over the weekend and I took off the cover for the car seat and she just stared (pictures of both below).

Still no teeth, but I keep checking.
