Picking out my favorite pictures is easy. I love them all. They showcase personality, appearance, and all the little details that make up memories. But this post would take hours to look through so I narrowed it down.
Eleanor:
Mallory:
Mallory was a whole lot easier because at only a month old I don't have many
Baby Size: A bag of microwave popcorn or a football. Weight: Symptoms:
I'm so tired
Back aches
Out of breath all the time
Hard to bend over
I get full really easily
Restless legs
Maternity Clothes: I'm outgrowing some more tops Sleep: Over the weekend Rob let me sleep in and my fitbit told me I got 5 hours of sleep each night. That is so rare for me. And then there was restless legs and insomnia the last few nights.
Cravings/Food Aversions: I was craving a mcdonalds cheeseburger the other day and had one and it was yummy! Belly Button: Out Rings on or off: On Gender: I've been leaning toward a girl for most of this last week
Name: Still need a girl middle name or maybe even a whole new girl name since Rob still isn't totally sure. Movement: This baby was quiet of Friday and really quiet on Saturday. I was getting really nervous; I'd laid on my side, drank ice water, drank juice, pushed on my belly and wasn't really getting anything. Then Sunday I got a little more movement and felt better. Stretch Marks: I haven't noticed any new ones other than the ones on my belly Best moment: We had maternity/family pictures on Sunday. Our first professional pictures since Eleanor was born so I'm looking forward to them. I loved the sneak peeks she posted that day.
Looking forward to: Being done with work because it's getting harder and I'm sore and exhausted Nervous about: Not working and thus being down to one income What I miss: Bending over/leaning forward and walking without being out of breath ten seconds later.
Labor signs: Nope Appointments: I had one yesterday. I don't know what the heartrate was but I was measuring right on track at 33 weeks. I have 5 more to go before my due date Misc. We ordered a new video monitor with dual cameras so we only have to have one base and it's not internet based like the dropcam so if the internet is out it will still work. Rob is awesome and fixed the glider cushion for under $10 so now it's more comfortable.
Misc:
She was doing the scrunchy face for a while and then stopped but did it over the weekend. I love the
scrunch face and missed it.
Now that we've been doing solids she's been pooping more often. When she was little (littler I should say) she'd only go once a week, but now it's several times a week.
Rob and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary and finally went on our first date since Eleanor was born. My mom watched Eleanor and while I've been away from her (usually short trips, but my mom and sister have watched her when I've had appointments) it was so so strange that we both were. I didn't check in, but worried about her because that's what mom's do. She did great and had some fun time with my mom. :)
Yesterday was Easter and Eleanor got to wear a fancy dress and see some of my family she hasn't seen since before Christmas (some of my aunts she hasn't seen since she was just a few weeks old). I will put a few pictures in this post but for a major Easter photo dump see this post.
She experienced grass for the first time.
We went to a playgroup on Friday and while there were other babies there, they all had older siblings and I was bored. I expected something a little more structured since the group had a theme, but only the last few minutes (it was an hour and a half) had anything to do with it and it was just 1 song and 1 story. They also played outside and I wasn't expecting that and thankfully had her a sweatshirt in the car. I'm not sure I'd go back until she get's bigger, but it was something different and she seemed to like it.
She is sooo loud when she wants to be. Rob and I can't even have a conversation over her yelling. It's kind of funny though I guess.
Eating:
She hasn't been nursing as much. I know that part of it is probably her getting older and part that she started solids, but I always get paranoid that she's not nursing because she wants to wean. I really don't want that and am not ready for it. I know she gives me pain and sometimes I wish that someone else could feed her, but I do love looking down at her or her holding my fingers. I know that I'm a totally sap!
This last week she's had carrots and peas and mixed veggies as well as oatmeal and a banana apple mix. We were going to hold off on fruit, but I had some given to us that was getting to the expiration date and so I wanted to try it.
I try to do oatmeal most mornings and a veggie at dinner time. Usually she only gets an ounce (if that) and most of the time she just kind of spits it out, but on Saturday she had mixed veggies and was eating almost all of it.
I go back and forth on doing baby led weaning I want to do it, but Rob feels more comfortable with purees.
Sleep:
If I say it's been a rough week is that enough? I've tried to be more consistent but honestly I'm just really stressed out. Friday night she would not go to sleep until after 10 pm and then when she was finally asleep it didn't last to long. She was up once around 2 am (slept on my chest) and then was up for the day at 4:30 am. I'd tried to feed her to get her back to sleep and that didn't work. Then she had a poop a 5 am so I changed that, fed her again and she was not wanting to sleep. Finally at a little before 6 I woke Rob up to take her. I usually never do that, but I was starting to feel the frustration building that 4 hours a sleep will lead to. I wound up only getting an hour and a half or so of sleep more, but it helped.
Last night I nursed her, put her in her crib asleep and then 10 minutes later she woke up. I knew she wasn't hungry or wet so Rob went in and she normally just cried until I get her, but she let him comfort her and then she fell back asleep and slept 7 hours almost. I fed her and she slept a few more. I kept her in her crib and she did okay, but I kind of missed having her in bed with me.
Pictures:
She got that sock
So I did this post differently and put pictures throughout it instead of all at the end. Keep it this way or go back to the old way?
Breastfeeding:
She is still causing me some pain on my left side when she's nursing, and I am back to using an ointment on the nipple after nursing to help.
Rob tried a few times this to give her a bottle this week and she won't take a bottle. Luckily it only had an ounce or so at a time so I didn't waste lots of milk (I suspected she wouldn't take it). It's really my fault because I stopped having her take bottles because of my clogged duct issues.
Sleeping
Sleeping was much better this week, during the week anyway. The weekend was pretty rough. Both Saturday and Sunday she was up by 6 am, and on Sunday she honestly didn't sleep until almost 4 pm (with the exception of maybe 15 minutes while nursing). At 4 pm I bundled her up really well in the carseat, snapped it into the stroller and we took a 20 minute walk (she was out in less than 5). It was only 9 degrees and I was cold, but I knew the fresh air and the walk would put her to sleep and she wound up sleeping for about 30 minutes.
I was in tears when Rob came home Sunday afternoon from exhaustion (he had been gone the night before) and had actually fallen asleep earlier that morning in bed with Eleanor while I was nursing her in the side lie position. I've never done that before (funny thing is I was dreaming I was nursing her). I did kind of nod off once in the glider when she was first born, but woke up as soon as my head bobbled. I'm sure I didn't sleep long, more than 10 minutes based on the time, but I still don't want that to be a habit.
I have been putting her on her belly just for naps. It's something I'm not totally comfortable with, but if she is sleeping, then I'll let it go. Whatever works! I do check on her every few minutes and use the monitor, as well as the Snuza
.
I really wish I could use that thing until she goes to college. I'd feel so much better. Haha.
Misc:
I'm down to my lowest weight yet! I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 116 lbs!
We took a walk in the big stroller (city mini) last week since it was warmer out and she loved it. On colder days I use the keyfit caddy
since I can bundle her up better in the car seat.
She loves to be able to look around though. We were in a store over the weekend and I took off the cover for the car seat and she just stared (pictures of both below).
