I love Meijer! I actually worked there as a cashier when I was in college for a while (although that was longer ago than I want to admit).

I love that I can find whatever I need there, from clothes to groceries to household items (such as small appliances, bedding, kitchen fixtures etc...).

So when offered the chance to create a fall look I was up for it.  I worried the challenge might be tougher due to the fact that I'm 9 months pregnant and Meijer doesn't carry a maternity line.  I was still pretty sure that I could find something to make it work.

I browsed through the ad online before going to see what was on sale that week.

While searching around on the website I learned that that actually do sell maternity clothes online (only online though).  I never knew that! 

These tops were on sale for $14 (normally priced at $16) & the leggings for $8 (normally $10).  Ths is the kind of outfit I would wear even when not pregnant, but I knew it would work being pregnant so this was my idea in my head when I went out to the store. 

I had also wondered if I should get some sort of sports team football related gear since that's pretty big for fall, but decided against it. 

I'm terrible at accessorizing so I wanted to find something that I could dress up with a necklace or fun purse. 

Once I got there, I got the style of top I went in for, a few other loose flowy and tunic style tops, a tank top and a pair of leggings.

I tried on the style of top that I went in for, but it just didn't look right. I knew that a loose flowy style top would be the best, so I tried on the other tops that I brought, but none of them were working how I had hoped.

However, the leggings worked great & the tank top worked well (I just had a size to big).  So I decided to work with that and find a cardigan or a sweater to pair with it.

I had black leggings and found a black sweater, but wanted to have some sort of color so I changed colors in tank tops and found a sparkly purple tank top.

So after getting my outfit, the next step was to accesorize.  I have small wrists so bracelets don't work for me, and I don't normally wear earings so I was hoping to find a necklace.

After wandering back and forth I found a necklace and I was set to go.


Here is the outfit I came up with (the only thing I didn't get during this Meijer shopping trip was the boots).  I'm loving it because it is comfortable, and it will work post baby as well.  I actually went back and bought more of the tanks because they were that comfortable.

The whole outfit cost under $50.  Success!

Are we ready yet?

Everything in the pictures is overflow and extra stored in the basement. I'm still working on the nursery post.  I'm pretty sure this kid has way to much stuff.  And I didn't even show the several totes of toys and other misc. things that she has also.  The totes are a good size too; you can't see how big they actually  are from the pictures.

Are we ready for her yet?  I think so. Haha. I just want her to get her so she can use all this stuff and wear all the cute clothes!

We do plan to cloth diaper, but we were given all these diapers, and will use them as well.

Extra wipes in the basement

Size 1 that didn't fit in her room & 2 diapers

No size 4 and the lone size 5 box; Hopefully we can be potty training by this point

I won the city mini last summer and we were given the snugli stroller and adaptor.
We also have a keyfit caddy for the carseat


Teething and feeding stuff ( sippy cups, bibs etc...), extra bath
stuff and extra blankets



I do also have a space saver high chair and an old pack and play that I bought
at garage sales ($10 for the high chair and $15 for the pack and play).

21 weeks

How far along:  21 weeks

Baby Size: A pomegranate

Weight:  133!  Up 2 1/2lbs this past week.  My total is just over 10lbs, 7 of that in the last month.

Symptoms:   Having to pee all night every night. 

Maternity Clothes:  $100+ dollars later I have a pair of jean shorts that fit, a tank top, t-shirt, maxi dress that work. I also ordered another pair of jean shorts, yoga/ casual style shorts, a hoodie, a t-shirt and a tank top from old navy so hoping those will work.  I hate spending money on clothes when I don't have a job, but I need a few more things, and I'll probably be okay.  Get used to seeing me in the same things this summer.  

Sleep:  I miss it.

Cravings/Food Aversions:  I want donuts!  Actually I told myself if I wanted one yesterday I had to walk to get it.  So I did.  It was a mile and a half (there and back) in 80 degree temps.  I got my donut though.

Belly Button: Still pretty far in.

Rings on or off:  On, although it's been humid so it was a little hard to slide off yesterday.

Gender:  Girl!
Name:  On Friday I was out with my sister and she guessed it and I can't lie.  So we decided to go ahead and share it.  Rob was pretty excited to call his family and tell them.  Her first name comes from the name of the road that my grandparents lived on and that I had really good memories on.  So while technically we are naming her after a road it's a legit name.  Her middle name is Rob's grandma's name. Her name is.....

Eleanor Rose 

Movement: It's still sporadic but the movements are a little stronger, and more poke/jab like and less of the rolling pulsing I was feeling before. 

Best moment: Hearing the heartbeat again; getting lots of clothes for her (thank you garage sales and donations), sharing the name.

Looking forward to:  Viability day in 3 weeks.

What I miss:  Sleep, frozen mixed drinks, riding my bike.


Labor signs: Nope and I'm okay with nothing for another 17 weeks. 

Appointments:  24 week and the glucose test on June 13th.

Misc.  Thanks to some savvy shopping and donations she is all set for newborn size (maybe need a few short sleeve onesies), and the 3-6 month range.  I still need 0-3 size, 6-9 month, and 9-12 (but I won't worry about that size until next summer).

19 week update

How far along:  19 weeks

Baby Size:  softball or a mango

Weight:  I gained about a pound this last week.  I'm up right around 6 overall now.

Symptoms:   Apparently I had a bad case of pregnancy brain over the weekend. 

Maternity Clothes:  I think I still could wear my regular clothes, but I've started mixing them in.

Sleep:  I'm sleeping in 2 hour stretches so it's gotten better.

Cravings/Food Aversions:   I've jumped off the no caffeine bandwagon.  I knew it was fine to have before, but having given it up before getting pregnant I just didn't want to start again.  I haven't had a whole soda to myself, but I've been drinking off of Robs when he has it.  Yummy cherry coke!

Belly Button:  Way in.  I'd be surprised if it popped. 

Rings on or off: On

Gender:  GIRL!

Name:   We settled on a name this weekend.  We had the first name picked even before getting pregnant, but we needed a middle name.  It's not my favorite middle name, and I wouldn't have chosen it, but it was important to Rob and it does sound fine together.  I've started saying it so I can get used to it.   We are keeping the name a secret, probably will share before birth though.   I will say the name isn't just a random name we both liked.  There is sentiment behind it (actually both)

Movement: I felt a few little pokes last week and have been feeling something that almost feels like tickling (maybe that's the butterfly feeling).  I'm pretty sure it's her although it is sporadic. 

Best moment: I overhead Rob on the phone talking about being a father to a daughter and how he has heard that relationship is actually deeper with a daughter than a son (I have no idea if this is true), but just the way he was talking about wanting to take her out and do daddy/daughter things when she was older just melted my heart and made me smile.

Rob's great aunt gave us a blanket over the weekend that his great grandma made for his first baby before she died.  I never meet her so it was before we were even together (and we've been together almost 6 years).  I guess he went over there one day and they were working on them for all the kids, and Rob commented on how he liked the fabric and she made him one.  His great aunt has been saving it for years and was so excited to give it to us.  I love that there is meaning and a story behind it and that's it her connection to her great great grandma. 

Looking forward to:   Next week being half way done.

Labor signs: No no no.  Nothing until 38 weeks please.

Appointments:  Next week at 20 weeks. 

Misc.  We visited Rob's grandparents on Sunday.  They got us a big box of diapers (they said it was a birthday gift for Rob, his birthday is Friday), and a cute bag that had a few outfits, bibs and blankets in it.  Baby girl is spoiled already! 

I've had my aunts on my my mom's and dad side's talk to me already about baby showers.  Aah it seems so soon.
