Round 2: 20 weeks

Then 10 weeks to 20 weeks (bloat to baby bump)

And 20 weeks with Eleanor and 20 weeks with this baby.

How far along:   20 weeks so halfway...

Baby Size:  A banana,

Weight:  Up 8lbs overall.  Sometimes it's more, sometimes less.
The weight is really creeping up there now.  I know it happens, but it's hard not to get a little anxious seeing it.

Symptoms:

  • Lots of abdominal achiness
  • Hungry all the time.
  • Sciatic nerve pain.  After sitting on the floor for even short periods of time it hurts when I stand up.  It's generally not horrible, although today was/is worse, but it is there and has been for a week or so.

Maternity Clothes:  Yes

Sleep:  3 hours a night good?

Cravings/Food Aversions:   I want the oreo's, ice cream, and junk food.  I buy fruit with grand ambitions of eating better but the oreo's tempt me so they win.

Belly Button:  In

Rings on or off: On

Gender:   At the anatomy scan when the tech was by the waist I thought I saw the three lines that would indicate girl, and my heart sank a little.  Not because I wasn't thrilled with a girl, but I didn't want to know.

But then I thought I saw them again when she was by the heart.  She did tell us to look away when she was by the legs though if we didn't want to know.
Then I saw the thumbnail image she saved and what looked like the legs and nothing was in between them that I could see, but it was a small image and maybe it was an arm.  I didn't know what I was looking at most of the time anyway so I guess I still don't know.

Name:  Yes to boy, maybe to girl.

Movement:  Lots now.

Stretch Marks: I haven't seen any new ones.

Best moment: Seeing the baby again and having everything look good at the anatomy scan.  I wish we had gotten better pictures; these are it really.

It's arm wrapped around it's leg

Looking forward to:  Not baby related, but it's my birthday tomorrow (Um I'll be 30?) and we are going away (with Eleanor) for the night on Friday (although I'm nervous about this because she is a terrible sleeper when we aren't home) I'm still really hoping for a night away from Eleanor at some point (I've never been away from her for more than 10 hours) before the baby comes.  I'll will miss her, but I don't want the birth of the baby to be the first time I am away from her.

Nervous about:  Seeing the baby again and feeling movement gave me this oh my word I'm really going to have a baby moment!

What I miss:  Not much this week.

Labor signs: Nope

Appointments:  October 7 (Eleanor's birthday; I made it this day because I was taking the day off work and it was easier than trying to leave work early a different day).

Misc.  I forgot to mention this last week, but we got our newborn photographer.  I messaged the girl I wanted and of course she was already booked.  Ugh!  So she gave me some recommendations and I found someone who was priced within my budget and who's work I liked.

Round 2: 10 weeks

How far along:  10 weeks

Baby Size:  An ice cube or a poker chip

Weight:  119.2

Symptoms:
Nausea all the time.

Maternity Clothes:  no

Sleep:   I'm not really sure what that is anymore

Cravings/Food Aversions:  No cravings but food is finally starting to sound good again

Belly Button:  In

Rings on or off:  On, but I only wear my rings when I leave the house

Gender:   Thinking boy, although had some girl vibes.

Name:  Yes to boy, no to girl

Movement: No

Stretch Marks:  Lots from Eleanor

Best moment: My unexpected ultrasound at my appointment yesterday and then telling my parents and Rob's dad about the baby

Looking forward to:   Being out of first trimester

Nervous about:   Telling people.  I don't know why but it makes me nervous.

What I miss:   Not being paranoid over everything.

Labor signs: No

Appointments:   July 24 for the nt scan

Misc.

Round 2: 7 weeks

How far along: 7 weeks

Baby Size:  Blueberry

Weight:  118.6

Symptoms:
Nausea,

Maternity Clothes: No

Sleep:  Up every single hour once I finally do fall asleep.  So maybe 4 hours a night.

Cravings/Food Aversions:  I have times where nothing at all sounds good, but I eat anyway because I need to.

Belly Button:  In

Rings on or off: On

Gender:   I'm still thinking boy

Name:   Boy name yes, girl name nothing

Movement: No

Stretch Marks: I have so many left from Eleanor

Best moment: Seeing one baby and it's beating little heart at the ultrasound.

Looking forward to:  Telling more people

Nervous about:  Eleanor weaning.  I'm trying to do it so I can have a little break before the next baby but she's not ready to.

What I miss:  Wine- especially on a day like today.

Labor signs:  No

Appointments:   July 10

Misc.  I had the ultrasound picture on the clipboard in the bedroom and Eleanor saw it and said 'baby'.  I showed it to Eleanor when we first got it and I was blown away when she said that.  I also wanted to melt and squeeze Eleanor because it was so precious.

12 weeks.

How far along:  Twelve weeks

Baby Size:  Small measuring tape, plum

Weight:  124.2, up from last week.

Symptoms:
I've actually felt worse this past week than I have most of the pregnant.  I had horrible cramping (probably gas pains), nausea & a headache that made me throw up. I even took a Tylenol (store brand) on Sunday.

I've actually been pretty hungry the last few days.  I eat more often which helps keep the nausea away.  I'm still limited in what sounds good though.

Maternity Clothes:  I just got some jeans from my sister so I will probably be busting them out in the next few weeks.  For now the hair tie trick is working.

Sleep:  Poorly.

Cravings/Food Aversions:  Still no cravings, but lot's of aversions.

Belly Button:  In

Gender:  Unkown, and no feelings either way.

Name:  Have a few in mind.

Milestones:  Hearing the heartbeat on the Doppler.  No more progesterone!

Looking forward to:  No more progesterone side effects.

What I miss:  Taking medicine when I want without thinking about if it's safe for the baby.  Asprin has always been my go to, but it's a no-no now.

Appointments:  April 16 for my 16 week and April 30 for the a/s!!!!

Misc.  I had my 12 week appointment today and my Nt scan today as well. The 12 week appt was seriously 5 minutes.  I peed on a stick and heard the heartbeat via Doppler. It was 162. That was it.

And then I had 2 1/2 hours before the nt scan.  So I sat in the lobby and killed time.  I couldn't go home because the appointments were only a few blocks apart and the weather sucks big time today. And of course my first appointment was really early so I dealt with rush hour traffic in icy and snowy road conditions.

12 weeks with it's little leg in the air.
The NT scan went well.  I could really see the heartbeat (158) and that was neat.  I got to see the baby move and stretch a little.  I wish Rob could have been there though.  The baby didn't want to move at first so I had to try flipping around so they could get the measurement needed.

It is crazy how different my ultrasound pictures look.  From 6 to 8 to 12 weeks the baby grew so much.

Then I had the blood work drawn and the wait at the lab was ridiculous.  It was so crowded and I got the last seat wedged in a corner, next to a really loud family.  All I wanted to do was eat and go to bed at that point.

A growing baby, check

I had a second ultrasound today.  Pretty sure my doctor didn't remember I was in two weeks ago, because he said something about checking for twins.  Um, yeah there weren't twins two weeks ago, and probably aren't twins today.  And there weren't.

But baby was measuring exactly where it should be based on ovulation.  Which is why I think charting is amazing, and would always recommend it.  I was able to see the brain and the spinal cord.

Today was kind of a crazy appointment day,  I had an appointment with my primary doctor because I needed a physical for insurance.  I had the lab work done for that last week.  I told them when I scheduled it that I didn't need a pap smear because I had one done it December at my Ob/gyn office.  I walked into the room and the stuff was there for it.  I just explained the situation and why I didn't need one.  My lab work was all good.  Good blood sugar, cholesterol etc.. Actually my doctor was surprised cholesterol wasn't higher, because he said it can go up in pregnancy.   I was supposed to have a nicotine check as well, but didn't have time to do it at the lab in the building because I had to get to my ob/gyn.

So I made it on time to the ob appointment.  Did the pee on a stick to check protein thing, and then waited naked (well a thin sheet and a gaping half robe) in a room for 20 minutes.  Then I needed blood work & a urine test thing done and decided to get it done and out of the way by going to the lab in the same building. While the tech was getting thing ready I mentioned that I was going to be peeing in/on so many things today.  She said oh well we can probably do the nicotine test right here.  I went "really? it's through another health care network though."  She asked if I had the lab form and I ran out to my car to get and brought it in.  She looked at it, checked and said yeah I can do that.  Thank you, Thank you.  Saved me another trip and another bottle of water to get and drink.
6 weeks 2 days vs 8 weeks 2 days.

So finally hours later, I stopped at Target.  I checked out Valentine's clearance and scored.  I got all the stuff in the picture, plus a 20 oz pop for $10.84.  The dress was .80, and the skirts (I bought 3 identical in different sizes) were .70 each.  If we don't have a girl I'll sell them or give them to someone who does have a girl.  The frame was marked at .59, but it has a lot of scratches so I asked if they would mark it down a little more.  They took of 15%, which equals .9, but I would have bought it regardless and intend to spray paint it.  The candy hearts were .10.

Baby has a heartbeat!!! (Happy Dance)

I am so so so relived.  I'm actually measuring a day ahead, but I'm just keeping my original date of October 1st.
Heartbeat was 118bpm.  We even got to hear it.  It was awesome.  I was so happy Rob was able to go.

Measuring 6wk 3 days.  Baby is that little white blob in the circle.
