Weekly Wrap Up 8-10

1) This is kind of a random one, and I'll probably get laughed at, but I was thinking about it this week.  I'm 27,  but up until this pregnancy I couldn't swallow pills.  Not even the itty bitty ones.  I would try to trick my self by putting it in pudding or tried to train myself with candy but nothing worked.  I figured I would just be taking chew able aspirin or liquid medicine the rest of my life.

Then when I got put on an oral form of progesterone because of low levels (which likely caused me to lose the first two pregnancies) I had to do it.   It wasn't a choice of suffering through pain.  I refused to lose another baby.  And those pills weren't the itty bitty ones.  They were the size of my thumbnail.  The first few weeks I gagged them down, and then it got easier and now I can usually take pills no problem.

Everytime I take one, I feel a little sense of accomplishment.  Lame I know, but I do.

2)  I've been wanting to get out and have more fun dates and do things we haven't done in a while or ever before the baby comes.  I wanted to go to the beach, but the 45 minute drive, plus the sitting in the sand, plus the walk to the bathrooms every 2 hours were going to add up to an uncomfortable afternoon.

So we decided to stick close to home and go mini-golfing.  We had a coupon and it only cost $5 for both of us.  But mini golfing at 31 weeks pregnant isn't the smartest idea because of all the bending over picking up the ball etc...  I was uncomfortable and exhausted by the time we were done.  That aside, it was still fun and I'm glad we did it.  In case you didn't see them on instagram (you can follow me via the camera icon on the right sidebar) here are a few pics.

I look huge here, but I totally aced this obstacle.  Rob was impressed.

Finally got a hole in one on almost the last hole.

3) I had my first baby shower on Sunday.  I forgot my camera and didn't want to hand off my phone to someone who wasn't sure how to use it so I don't have any pictures.  Boo.  It was a small group of family and it was fun.  We got the high chair and the changing table, some bath stuff and a few misc. things.
I have 3 more coming up.  It probably makes me sound spoiled but they are for different groups of people and with the exception of my mom and sister if they come to Rob's family shower the attendees aren't the same so I think it's okay.

4) I know I always talk about the weather, but it warmed back up (low 80's) and I was so grumpy on Wednesday.  I don't know why because those 90 degree days a few weeks ago didn't affect me like this.  I think it must have been the humidity.  I felt really bad for being short tempered with the kids at work.

5) So yesterday we went for ice cream, went to the Library and played the wii.  And I got paid for it.  Love love my job!  I'm so happy that I got to watch them again this summer.  If you didn't know I watched them from the time the youngest was not even one until she went to first grade and was in school full time.  She's going to be a second grader soon.  The oldest was in kindergarten when I started and she's going to be a 7th grader.  Plus they went to the daycare I worked at, which is how I knew them, so really I've known them since before the mom was even pregnant with the youngest.
I guess sun roofs are awesome!  (I only let them stick out
their hands once we were in their neighborhood.
I have to be safe after all)

6)  We visited with our nephew (3 1/2) and niece (10 months) last night and took them to their neighborhood park.  I love watching Rob with them, although I think it's clear I'm going to be the mean mom who always says no, and he's going to be the fun dad.  Maybe it's just that I'm more comfortable in giving discipline (our nephew had a couple of mini-temper moments) or something.  I don't know.

Weekly Wrap-up 8-3

1) I used my Pink Blush credit that I won to get this dress.  I'm hoping it fits and I get it in time for one of my baby showers.  The credit didn't totally cover the cost, but I only spent $17 on it (with shipping) and I spent $15 on my other maternity dresses so I don't think it was that bad.

2) I had a good week of wins, but they were smaller. I won coupons for frozen pizza and frozen pie. I don usually enter food contests unless they are easy entries so I was happy to win. I also won a book (for me) and 2 cloth diaper covers & inserts and some laundry detergent (cloth diaper safe) and bleach. And then I won a $5 amazon gift card from crowd tap (I won $50 to restaurants.com last month from there). Then I won a $25 gift card to a website that sells cloth diapering stuff.

3) The weather this week has been much cooler.  And while I don't really mind it, it is still summer and I want summer weather.

4) I'd seen other bloggers posting about the Target toy clearance this week.  I decided to check it out and even headed to a Target I don't shop at because I knew it was bigger and hoped for a better selection.  I got everything pictured for just under $57.  The only thing that wasn't on clearance was the Minnie mouse lunch set (it was $3 in the dollar spot), but I knew it would coordinate with the other Minnie mouse stuff so I got it.  Now I've got Christmas presents for all my nieces and nephews (At Christmas time they will be 8,3 1/2,1 & 8 months) with the exception of a few small items, and a birthday gift for my youngest niece, who will be one in October (side note, I'm so excited for her and this baby to be close in age.  I hope they will be best friends as well as cousins).   I even picked up one of the walker toys for this baby.  Not that it needs to be a Christmas gift because at only a few months I doubt she will care.

5) I also got another prize this week that I won.  I won this wet bag last week and when I got it I was surprised at how huge it was.  It's got to be at least 2 feet long.

6) So I think it's been a pretty good week of wins and fantastic deals!  I'm ready for a lazy Saturday before things get really busy.  I have 4 baby showers this month (3 on Sunday's and one on a weeknight.  Then we are doing a hospital tour and a infant first aid/cpr class, which takes up a few more weeknights.  I think Rob is having a 'boy shower' which really is an excuse to hang out with friends one Saturday this month, and we have a class reunion another Saturday.  So I'm going to relax when I can. :)

Weekly wrap up 5.11.13

I've been absent with my weekly wrap-up's lately.  I just haven't had much going on aside from the pregnancy, and I don't want to make these all about pregnancy.

1)  So my job has ended.  Now I'm back to attempting to find something again.  I know Rob says we will be okay, but I just hate not helping out financially.

2) And while we might  be financially okay at the moment, in a few months it will be a different story.  Hello $3,000 deductible

3) We had some beautiful weather earlier this week.  I even got a slight sunburn being outside (I'm usually good about sunscreen, but I hadn't planned to be out for so long and just didn't think about it). Then yesterday it got cold, and my winter coat won't zip up so that was a bummer (it's not broken, I'm just to big for it to zip up)

4) Yesterday was Rob's birthday! We went to Logan's for dinner with his: mom, sister and brother in law, niece and nephew, and his grandparents.   It was nice to see them and visit.  Then we had cake and later ice cream back at our house.  I didn't get him much, just a few shirts.  Even baby girl got him a onesie that said I love daddy.  :)  I'm hoping it will fit her on his birthday next year (it's a 9 month so it might be a little big if she's a peanut.  If she's not then it shouldn't be a problem at all).  I did make him a handmade card.   I didn't want to spend money on a card when I had plenty of scrapbook paper, and supplies.  It turned out just fine.

5) Because I haven't been working I've been doing some deep cleaning around the house.  This week I cleaned the top of the kitchen cabinets.  I'm pretty sure that it's never been done since Rob bought the house...4 years ago.  I don't even know if it was done then.  It took me several hours to clean.  The only thing that worked was oil soap.  It was a bit uncomfortable because I couldn't stand up straight because of the height so my neck was crooked and by the end neck and shoulders hurt.  Oh and my arms.  They are still sore from scrubbing.   I put paper towel down when I was all done so hopefully that will help in the future.

I've done other cleaning as well.  I cleaned the bathroom basement (that rarely gets used by Rob; it's to cold down there for me), all the baseboards, behind the fridge; I dust most days; vacuum and clean the floors behind, among other things.  At least the house has never been better.  My sister thinks I'm nesting already.  I think it's more needing to feel productive.

6) I made homemade meatballs this week.  Despite my meat aversions I ate a few and they were pretty good.  They took some time to make though.  I had to shape the meatballs, then freeze them, roll them in flour, brown them and then bake them with the sauce that I also made.   Rob enjoyed them and said he would eat them again.  That's  my test.  If he would eat it again then it was a success.  Most of my creations turn out luckily.

7) I've had a few good wins lately.  I won a few gift codes to websites that sell cloth diapering stuff so I picked up a few diapers, I won a music table (worth $200), and a baby swing.  We were given one,  but the perk to this is it's more travel friendly.  I'm still waiting to get it.   I try to keep an updated list in a tab at the top of the page.

8) I've made progress on my quiet book.  I've gotten all the started pages actually finished.  I'm happy with how it's turning out.  My niece enjoyed the potato head page and the tic tac toe page. I also did a shape page and a number page.  I want to add a few more before finishing it off.  When I'm done I'll post about it.

9)  We (and by we I mostly mean Rob) have been getting some projects ready to do around the house.   His grandpa gave us an old storm door which is in better shape than ours (just needs a new screen), we bought casing to go around the big garage door and have a few other things in mind.   I'm excited to add a little curb appeal to the house.
