Monday Quiz About Me 9/30

1. It's Customer Service week - do you think customer service is getting better or worse now than it was five years ago?

I think it's worse because a lot of companies use those automated voice prompt systems.  Half the time they don't get what you are saying, even if you say it slowly and clearly.  Big companies don't seem to care because you are just a number to them.

At&t is the worst.  I've yet to hear a positive thing about them.

Health insurance companies I've found are pretty good with prompt answering (with a real person), and being friendly.  Blue Care is always friendly and quick and Aetna never gave me issues either.

2. October 1st is also World Vegetarian Day - have you ever spent time as a Vegetarian?  Do you have regular meatless meals?

I've never officially been a vegetarian, but I'm not a big meat eater so 2/3 of the meals I make don't involve meat.  I could eat pasta every day though.  I love carbs!

3. What reality show would you like to be a part of?

I don't really have a lot of skills or talents so shows that involve dancing or singing would be out.   I'm also not athletic so that counts that out as well.   I would like to be on a game show that involves answering trivia questions.  I love trivia.  Does that count?

4. Are you planning to watch the Baseball post-season?  Who will win the World Series?

I would probably if we got more than one channel.  I don't know who is in the finals, so I don't know who will win.  Being from Michigan I guess I should cheer on the Tigers, but I also grew up with a dad who was a big Cubs fan. I'd celebrate if either of those teams won.

Monday Quiz About Me 9/23

Acting Balanced

1. Next Saturday is "Ask a Stupid Question Day"... in preparation for it, please share a stupid question you've been asked or would like an answer to...
Lately I've been getting a lot of the "Have you had your baby yet?" questions.  Since I'm clearly still pregnant and there isn't a baby in my arms, the obvious answer would be no.

2. Do you believe that workplace dressing has become too casual?
Yes.  I also think that dressing at weddings and church as become to casual as well.  I don't mind jeans at church, but baseball caps shouldn't be worn.  Cut of jeans and a harley davidson t shirt are not wedding attire, even if said wedding is casual in a park.

3. What technology is on your wishlist?  Is there a technology that hasn't been invented yet that you want to see happen?
I'd love a new laptop.

4. September is Honey Month - are you a fan of honey?  how do you use it?
I don't use it.  I guess I don't know how to use it really.

Monday Quiz About Me 9/16

1. September 15th was Chicken Lover's day - what is your favorite way to prepare chicken?
I like chicken fajitas.  Since getting pregnant chicken has been an aversion of mine so I really haven't eaten it since January.    I actually would make chicken often because it's cheap and easy to prepare.  I usually make something in the crockpot, because chicken kind of is gross feeling.

These sound good though.

2. It is 99 days until Christmas... what are you planning to ask Santa for?
New couches.  Our hand me down couches are disgusting.  They are stained, ripped, the cushions are misshapen and I am embarrassed by them.  I'd love something like this.
Or
3. How long should company stay?
No more than 4 or 5 days, and then I would want my house back

4. What do you consider to be a long trip?
I'm a homebody, so anything more than 3 nights is enough for me.  I like to go and see new places, but I also really like my own bed. And that usually wins.

Monday Quiz About Me 9/9

1. September is Better Breakfast month - if time, money, calories etc. were no object, what would you have for breakfast?
Hash browns, bagels, french toast, bacon and omelets.  I don't normally like eggs, but with omelets you can add lots of cheese, veggies and it makes it so much better.

2. How often do you do a major clean out?
Maybe once or twice a year.  Whenever I get really sick of clutter and junk everywhere.

3. What makes you feel appreciated?
Just someone noticing that I put time and effort, so acknowledgement.  I don't need a parade, just want someone to notice.

4. If you had the choice, would you employ someone to help around your home/life?  Maid, Nanny, Cook, Butler or some other form of help?
We pay my brother to mow our lawn.  Rob has knee problems (he's had ACL surgery twice) so we just give my brother $30 each time. He works for a landscaping company, and has the equipment available.  We have a small lot so it takes him less than an hour and he trims the edges along the sidewalk and driveway and it looks great. He probably does it every 2-3 weeks depending on rain etc...

I'd probably pay someone to cook.  I rely on boxed, prepackaged and frozen meals most nights.  I'm lazy and just not creative enough to come up with great meals.

We used to pay my sister to clean when I was working 3 jobs.  That was so nice coming home to a clean house once a week, but then my hours changed and she had a baby so no more of that. :(

Monday Quiz About Me 9/2

1. September is National Library Card month - when was the last time you checked a book out of the library?
At some point this summer I checked out some magazines.  Last week I checked out a few movies.  I have a lot of e-books on the kindle and ipad waiting to be read first.

2. What are you most looking forward to about autumn?
Baby girl will be here!  Yesterday marked one month until my due date!

I love Halloween because I love seeing all the cute kids coming to our door to trick or treat.  The littlest ones always seem so thrilled to get candy.  I gave one little boy (maybe 3 years old) a couple pieces last year and as he walked away I heard him say "She sure gave me a lot"  Adorable!  I don't even care if teenagers come as long as they say thank you when they walk away.

3. Has the word Christmas entered your vocabulary yet?
Yep, I have Christmas shopping almost all the way done for all the nieces and nephews.

4. Do you care that Football season is starting?  Who is your team?
I don't care about it.  I don't watch it enough to have a favorite team.   I went to one high school football game a few years after I graduated and that was it.

Monday Quiz About Me 8/26

1. Yesterday (August 25th) was Kiss and Make Up Day... when was the last time you had to kiss and make up?

I don't know.  I'm kind of a hormonal pregnant woman sometimes and even though I think it's a totally acceptable excuse I do feel a little bad sometimes and apologize to Rob for it.

2. Are you doing anything special for Labour Day weekend?

We might go to Rob's grandparents; they live on a lake about 30 minutes away.  Really I don't feel like doing much or going far away.

3. If you could go back to school, what would you major in?

I really don't know.  I have an associates in child development, and a bachelors in family studies. initially started going for business.  Funny thing is that while I hate math I actually enjoyed the few accounting classes I took in high school and college.  So maybe something to do with that?

4. How much rain did you have this summer?

We had a few weeks of constant rain it seemed like, but for the most part not a ton.  More than last summer though.  It was so dry last summer.

Monday Quiz About Me; 8-12

Rob isn't here to participate in this weeks special double answer edition, so I'm going solo today. :)

1. What is your favorite 'G Rated' activity that you like to share with your SO or BFF?
We watch tv more often than anything else.  I guess it could be more than 'G rated' depending on what we watch though.

2. Do you buy summer clothes at the end of season clearance sales?
Yes, for both of us and I will do the same for this baby on the way.

3. August 13th is national left-handers day.  How many left handed people do you know?
A few.  Both my sister and her husband are left handed; I'm curious to know what my nephew's dominant hand will be.  My paternal grandpa was left-handed as is a friend of mine.

4. When you go swimming do you: a) jump into the pool; b) gently move into the pool; or c) dive in?
Slowly wade in and then just go for it.   Rob usually just dives in.

Monday Quiz #MQAM

1. July is National Ice Cream month - are you celebrating?
I wish I could.  I did have yummy s'mores ice cream recently, but even a small come made me sick afterwards.  It's this pregnancy aversion thing.  I don't want to have an aversion though.  I did eat a lot of ice cream back in May when we had some from Rob's birthday.  I put marshmallows  chocolate syrup, cherries, whip cream, and nuts in my ice cream so I guess I celebrated early!

2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Sitting on the couch under a blanket with a book or playing on the ipad

3. What is the one book from High School that you remember reading most?  Why?
The Scarlet Letter.  10th Grade (which was 13 years ago. Oh boy!).  I only remember this because my teacher at the time used the phrase 'Hester the molester' and was a creepy old man.  Lots of people loved him, but I was never a huge fan of his.  Sorry if any of my high school friends were.

4. Have you ever visited Charleston, SC?
Nope
