December Goals

I finished the Bible!  On time.  The entire thing in a year.  First time in 33 years I've done that. 

I didn't read any books this month, but overall I read more than once a month so I am okay with that. 

No paying down debt.  I needed a root canal and our washer died so those things needed to be replaced. 

We had a date at Flo's.  This is one of my favorite places to eat at so it wasn't something new, but it was alright.  I just hope dates next year are more than just going out to eat.  Which is fine, but I think trying different things. 

For Christmas I made several new things.  Some were incredibly simple but they were all different)

• Cranberry/walnut/feta cheese salad (which would have been good, but I didn't like the salad blend)
• Ranch bread (french bread with melted butter/mayonnaise/ranch dressing dry mix)
• Grinch punch (sprite/7 up, pineapple juice, lime sherbert, green Hawaiian punch-not sure the exact flavor) 

November goals

We had a date to a local brewery/restaurant the very last day of month (we had a date here over the summer; I like this place though).  Thanks to my friend for watching the girls.   Service wasn't great today, which was a bummer and Rob bailed on me immediately after we got home to go hang out with his friends but I guess it was still a date.

I made Brussel sprouts for the first time.  I actually just had them in October for the first time at a retreat and they were delicious.  I wound up making them twice this month, once for my family and once for thanksgiving where I got compliments and they were eaten so I will call it a win. 

Bible reading is going along. Same as always.  Some days I'm behind and some ahead, but still on track to finish on time.

No debt paid off, but we did pay off our Disney trip so I guess sort of.

Finished the Harry Potter series this month.  I was a little sad for it to be over.  But now I want to watch all the movies to see how they compare.

We had one date.  Actually this one was fun.  Rob's work was sponsoring a new exhibit at the museum so we got to go to a preview night.  We could have brought the girls but we didn't  They had food there, and it wasn't a long date, but it was different.

September Goals

We went on one date at the end of the month.  We went to a new restaurant and then tried to go to the adjacent wine tasting room.  It was their grand opening and was super busy and unlike any other wine tasting I've been too.  I didn't enjoy it.  Then we ran errands which Rob said wasn't a date.  I told him to make the plans next time. haha

Still behind on the bible reading.  5 days this time.

No debt paid off, although I did make a pretty big Disney trip payment so I guess that could count.

I think one of my goals was to cut back on sugar this year.  I've kind of been bad, but this month I consumed less than normal I think.

I made stuffed peppers this month for my new recipe.  I did it in the crock pot so they were a little mushier than maybe they were supposed to be.  But they were still edible.

I did purge several boxes of stuff.

I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this month.

She's become very particular in what she wears, she hates matching and can't stand anything itchy (so seams on clothes drive her crazy).

She's gotten good at recognizing letters and figuring out what letters are in words (or at least the beginning).  Same thing with writing although she writes the letter n like a letter m which means her name is Eleamor.

Fine motor skills are in progress- she holds scissors and pencils so awkwardly.

She complains about going to church and school but usually is great once we get there.

She played soccer this fall instead of doing dance, she probably won't play again, but I made her stick with it and she was fine.

We spent her birthday at the Great Wolf Lodge instead of a party this year.

Spooky Fun with the October Shop Swago Board!

 Swagbucks is hosting another round of Shop Swago! What is SWAGO you ask? It's a bingo-inspired promotion run by Swagbucks, a website that rewards you with points (called SB) for completing everyday online activities. You can redeem those SB for free gift cards. If you've never used Swagbucks, participating in SWAGO is a great introduction to the site and an easy way to earn a good amount of points quickly.

We had our class reunion so we made that a date night.  Rob's mom and grandparents watched the kids overnight.


I fell behind on my bible reading, but am trying to catch up.

I made hot cocoa cheesecake dip for a christmas party.  I found it on pinterest and don't have the link but it was super easy!

June Goals

I made french dip for my new recipe.  I combined various recipes found with what I had.  It was pretty good though. 

I'm ahead on Bible reading

We went on one date.  It was a quick dinner date again.  Eleanor was at VBS and my parents watched Mallory

I think I've given up on my goal of eating less sweets.  Not formally but with summer and ice cream and it's so tough.

I didn't keep track of books very well so I'm not sure what I read exactly.  I finished this one and read from a few others but didn't finish them so I'm not counting them .
