Sleep: We've had a few rough nights. Like hours to get her to settle down. It's been exhausting. Food: I don't know. I'm terrible at keeping track but she eats it all. Raspberries are probably her favorite. She loved pasta salad.
Misc:
She pulled herself up once onto a toy from a sitting position. I came back into the room and was shocked.
I shouldn't have been because that week she pulled herself up over a ledge/rail on a toy at the museum and fell a few feet onto the floor (she's fine but I felt horrible)
Naps are getting better. I sometimes resort to the carrier, but if I can nurse her to sleep and lay her in the crib and she will stay sleeping she might go an hour or so.
Even nighttime sleep is a little better. She still wakes up once or twice before really settling down for the night but she goes back down with just a little rocking/swaying.
We were at my parents cabin over the weekend and she slept terrible, but the pack n play isn't super comfy so I don't blame her.
Feeding:
I've been throwing cherrios at her lately to keep her entertained while I try to eat (not literally throwing of course). She doesn't usually manage to get them into her mouth but when she rarely does she seems to enjoy them.
She bit me while nursing this week. Three times. And then hasn't since.
She ate steak and really enjoyed it. Like gummed at it for a long time until she dropped it and it was all over. Misc:
She's getting better at sitting unassisted which is nice. I tried her in a shopping cart and she wobbled a little bit did okay.
Feeding:
The latch issues got a little better. There are still nursing sessions everyday that are painful but it's not every one at least.
I don't think we tried any new foods this week.
Sleep:
Naps are getting a little better. When she naps in her crib she will get closer to an hour most times. It's getting her to sleep that's a problem. Yesterday she was up from around 7am -1:30 (with a 20 minute nap in there) and then she slept for THREE hours. Unheard of. But she had been up several times the night before wide awake.
Then last night she went to bed around 9 pm, slept for an hour and was up at 10 pm and didn't go back to sleep until 1:45 pm. I was about to lose my mind-or get in the car and drive to get her to sleep. It was horrible. She would fall asleep nursing, I'd put her in the crib and she would scream. So I'd put her in bed with me and then she would want to play. So annoying! So you would think that she would sleep in at least right? Nope up at 6:30. She fell back asleep finally at 11:30 and is sleeping right now (it's 1:30). But I have to get her up to feed her in a few minutes because we have to go to work.
Misc:
I noticed yesterday that she is starting to get teeth. They are still below the gum line but I noticed little bumps there.
Also yesterday she sat up on her own for the first time. I was sorting clothes and she was playing by me and then I looked over and she was sitting up. She's been close and I even said to Rob the other day that she would have it down in the next week and she did. I'm a little sad that she's growing up but I was proud of her. And judging by the picture I took I think she was too!
Trying to get into the container of baby proofing supplies
She loves that ball. $2 well spent.
Not a fan of her pool
This chair is a new $2 garage sale find
She get's mistaken for a boy every week. It happened right before I took this picture.
Visiting the kids I used to watch and all the neighbor kids
Still going strong. I'm pumping a little more often now (and by that I mean maybe 3-4 times a week; I pumped and stored a whole 40 oz in February)- I'm paranoid about losing my supply randomly and want to have some milk.
Actually I'm contemplating donating the milk from October. I didn't know to freeze in small portions and froze it in 5 oz and it won't get used probably. But even if I do that I probably have a weeks worth of milk stored.
We haven't introduced solids yet. I don't think it's quite necessary yet, although in the next few weeks I think we will probably. I wanted to wait until 6 months, but she is super into anything we are eating or drinking.
She is going longer stretches between eating now. She can go 3 hours on some occasions.
Sleep:
I don't know what that is, and she doesn't want any part of it.
She is on a major sleep strike lately. Like she's up super early (before 7), not sleeping until 9 pm, and where she was taking short naps (but at least taking them) she's no longer doing that. This last week I have spent an hour or more struggling to get her to take a 15 minute nap. Bedtime is the same way. Last night she was up 4 times from 9 pm -7 am.
This is how I've felt lately with no sleep, and I think it's worse than when she was a newborn.
Misc:
She hadn't had her 4 month checkup when I wrote the last monthly post, but was 75% for head and weight and 50% for height a few weeks ago.
I did weigh her today and she's about 16 lbs.
I'm pretty sure part of her major sleep retaliation comes from the fact that she's teething. No teeth have popped through, and I keep checking, but it would explain things.
When she's shy or being silly she'll bury her head in my neck/shoulder. I think it's so sweet and I love it.
The last few days she's rolled belly to back a lot more often, but I've yet to see her go back to belly.
We started putting her in the church nursery and she does pretty well.
She also sits up pretty well, she has been for a while so maybe I wrote about it last month. Here is a video from today though.
Me:
Still no postpartum period, and I'm cool with that. Yeah, I know I needed to share that.
Actually though having no idea when to expect it makes me nervous. I know nursing isn't a guarantee that it will delay it, but I hope it stays a way longer.
I've been back to my pre-pregnancy weight for a while, but my shape is a little different and most of my pants just don't fit me anymore.
My stretch marks are fading as well. Yes! I still will never wear a bikini again.
I'm pretty sure I wanted to add something else, but can't remember. If I think of it I'll edit later.
Breastfeeding: I like to nurse in the cradle position. It's not always the most comfortable, but I love that she seems so snuggly with me.
On the flip side, she doesn't empty the breast as well in that position. I nursed her several times on Saturday in that position and for the first time in a loooong time I woke her up that night at 2 am to feed her because I was so full and heading toward clogged ductdom.
Sleep:
I'm so tired. I need sleep and even when given the opportunity to nap I just can't shut my mind off.
Misc: I don't think I've mentioned this, but she's doing pretty good about sitting up. She can hold the post for a little while before pitching forward or sideways.
She has her 4 month check up tomorrow and has to get shots. It was so awful last time. Her sweet little face when they poked her and she got that stunned look on her face and then starting crying. I hated that moment. I cried also.
Funny story: We got Eleanor a high chair on Saturday (the one we had gotten as a shower gift had a narrow seat) and Rob set it up and no joke, 30 seconds later she had a poop explosion. Good thing that seat wiped clean so well. Score one for our highchair. We got this one, but in a different print.

She was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open; she looked so funny.
